Great performance Silvian.. My mom and I were quite impressed with the story you had to tell and your delivery of it! I hope to see it again with my husband this weekend. I say Simona deserves a big thankyou for all her background support as well! Good luck in NY! Bahi

It was great - I really found it fascinating. I've driven everyone in the office crazy talking about it.

A very thought-provoking story delivered with humor and wit. Silvian has gone through a lot in one lifetime. Btw, I was glad to bump into him in the cafe today! :)

Multumiri pentru o seara placuta si in care am putut retrai povesti de emigrare. Sintem in America de 27 de ani si am gasit destule puncte in comun desi noi nu am plecat ilegal. Mult succes in continuare.

Good show. It got me thinking about how when life is relatively easy, as it is in a rich country like ours, people put artificial obstacles in front of themselves, such as mountain climbing or difficult books. Silvian's obstacles were not voluntary. He plotted revolution, risked being shot while escaping his country, lived under a bridge and picked garbage cans until he found his way back into his field of high tech in a country where he didn't speak the language. Artificial obstacles or involuntary ones, fighting the fight alters the person. Everyday challenges become smaller, big challenges become attainable, with effort. Come hear a man speak who had been through so much, he believed he could swim the Atlantic to join our melting pot, and is thinking about returning to Romania to help.
Completely enthralling performance! Despite the extraordinary nature of Silvian's experiences themselves, what struck me most was how he maneuvered through them and maintained his dignity, humor, and focus. Bravo.
